Hello! I'm Kristina Klette, founder and president of NV STEM for Skilled Trades and co-owner of NV Carpentry. Through my work in product management in the science and technology field and my experience running a construction business, I've seen how crucial STEM education is for success in modern skilled trades. That's why I'm passionate about bridging the gap between technical education and trades careers, helping young people discover rewarding opportunities that blend hands-on skills with cutting-edge technology. Kristina's Story
Growing up in Northern California and Nevada, she witnessed firsthand the evolution of skilled trades through her father's journey from carpenter to successful custom home contractor. This early exposure to craftsmanship laid the groundwork for her understanding of how technical knowledge and practical skills intersect in the trades.

After earning her graduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Nevada, Reno, her career path led her through Hamilton Robotics, BD Biosciences, and Illumina where she worked closely with custom solutions engineers and manufacturing trades professionals. These roles strengthened her appreciation for how STEM education and traditional trade skills complement each other in modern industrial settings.

As co-owner of NV Carpentry with her licensed contractor husband, she experiences daily the critical role that STEM education plays in successful trades careers. This hands-on involvement, combined with her scientific background and manufacturing experience, inspired her to found NV STEM for Skilled Trades. Through this non-profit organization, she champions the integration of STEM education with trades training, working to empower the next generation of skilled professionals who will bridge the gap between technical knowledge and practical application.
